Cary Grant, 82, the debonair Hollywood star who performed in more than 70 movies from 1932 until he retired from filmmaking in 1966; of a stroke, in Davenport, Iowa, on Nov. 29. Born Archibald Leach in Bristol, England, and an acrobat in vaudeville from age 14, Grant went on to become a consummate leading man remembered for comedy parts and romantic roles.
